Aqueduct Visit:

Aqueduct:

  • One of the forms to get water or forms of water is the watercycle. It have 3 steps. The first one is Evaporation, the second one was the condensation and the third one was precipitation. In the precipitation is the form in which we can see the rain in places.Other forms in which we can found water are: the lakes, the rivers, some mountains,in the houses,in the oceans and in the lagoons. In the bodies there also we can find water.

  • A example of contamination is the bogota river it is located in Colombia. As we know the bogota river is connected with the magdalena river and the magdalena river with the ocean so at the same time we are contaminating 3 differents places. The bogota citizens are trying to help that water but i think now is very imposible to clean it because it contamination is very big and maybe it have levels of danger.

  • A water system is the hydraulic system it is very important.

  • Colombia had 4 wetlands, and there is also a variety of rivers. Some of the examples of the fauna in Colombia are:

  • Chamicero

  • Alcaravan

  • Monjita

  • Chorlito

  • Venado De Cola Blanca

  • Oso De Anteojos

  • Chirlobirlo

  • And some examples of floraa in Colombia are:

  • Orquidea

  • Frailejon

  • Bromelia

  • Gualola

  • Envidia

Juanco

Aliso

Sauco

The history of the water had 8 steps.

The water history starts a long time ago. When we were not civilizated as today.Normaly when you need water you have to go to a river or a lake. That finished when a man decided to changed the things. He do a canal in which water was transported from the lakes or rivers to the town. But it have a problem, the water gets dirty and contaminated when it arrived to the town or city. The people started to get sick. Many people die.But another man decide to create something to help the world .So he created the aqueduct. And after that day the people lived better.

The water uses:

The water is important for all what living things do.Without water we can't do things. We need water for all.

Thanks for seen my blog and remember to safe the world

The water

Water is a chemical substance that is composed of hydrogen and oxigen and is vital for all known forms of life.

In typical usage ,water refers only to its liquid form or state, but the substance also has a solid state, ice and gaseous state, water vapor or steam.Water covers 71% of earths surface. On earth it is found mostly in oceans and other large water bodies, with 1.6% of water below ground in aquifers and 0.001% in the air as vapor, clouds(formed of solid and liquid water particles suspended in air ), and precipitation.Oceans hold 97% of surface water, glaciers and polar ice caps 2.4%, and other land surface water such as rivers, lakes and pounds 0.6%.A very small amounts of the Earths water is contained within biological bodies and manufactured products.

Water on earth moves continually through a cycle of evaporation or transpiration (evapotranspiration), precipitation, and runoff, usually reaching the sea.Over land, evaporation and transpiration contribute to the precipitation over land.

Clean, fresh drinking water is essential to human and other life forms.Access to safe drinking water has improved steadily and substantially over the last decades in almost every part of the world. There is a clear correlation between access to safe water and GDP per capita. However, some observers have estimated that by 2025 more than half of the world population will be facing water-based vulnerability.A recent report (november 2009) suggests that by 2030,in some developing regions of the world, water demand will exceed supply by 50%.Water plays an important role in the world economy, as it functions as a solvent for a wide variety of chemical substances and facilitates industrial cooling and transportation.Approximately 70% of fresh water is consumed by agriculture.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving History:

Most stories of Thanksgiving history start with the harvest celebration of the pilgrims and the indians that took place in the autumn of 1621. Although they did have a three-day feast in celebration of a good harvest, and the local indians did participate, this "first Thanksgiving" was not a holiday, simply a gathering. There is little evidence that this feast of thanks led directly to our modern Thanksgiving Day holiday. Thanksgiving can, however, be traced back to 1863 when Pres. Lincoln became the first president to proclaim Thanksgiving Day. The holiday has been a fixture of late November ever since.

However, since most school children are taught that the first Thanksgiving was held in 1621 with the pilgrims and indians, let us take a closer look at just what took place leading up to that event, and then what happened in the centuries afterward that finally gave us our modern Thanksgiving.

The Pilgrims who sailed to this country aboard the Mayflower were originally members of the English Separatist Church (a Puritan sect). They had earlier fled their home in England and sailed to Holland (The Netherlands) to escape religious persecution. There, they enjoyed more religious tolerance, but they eventually became disenchanted with the Dutch way of life, thinking it ungodly. Seeking a better life, the Separatists negotiated with a London stock company to finance a pilgrimage to America. Most of those making the trip aboard the Mayflower were non-Separatists, but were hired to protect the company's interests. Only about one-third of the original colonists were Separatists.

Traditional Thanksgiving Meal:

The centerpiece of contemporary Thanksgiving in the United States and Canada is a large meal, generally centered around a large roasted turkey. The majority of the dishes in the traditional American version of Thanksgiving dinner are made from foods native to the New World, as according to tradition the Pilgrims received these foods from the Native Americans. However, many of the classic traditions attributed to the first Thanksgiving are actually myths introduced later.

The Tipical Clothes:

The tipical clothes of thanksgiving are usually have a turkey a life or death.Another type of clothes are the ones that use the the Indians and also the ones that used the people of long time ago.

The Dogs Clothes:

The clothes that they used to wear had a turkey , food , a mensaje and the tipical simbols that represents the day of thanksgiving.

Biography Of Charls Dickens

Charles Dickens was born in Portsmouth, England, on February 7, 1812, to John and Elizabeth Dickens. He was the second of eight children. His mother had been in service to Lord Crew, and his father worked as a clerk for the Naval Pay office. John Dickens was imprisoned for debt when Charles was young. Charles Dickens went to work at a blacking warehouse, managed by a relative of his mother, when he was twelve, and his brush with hard times and poverty affected him deeply. He later recounted these experiences in the semi-autobiographical novel David Copperfield. Similarly, the concern for social justice and reform which surfaced later in his writings grew out of the harsh conditions he experienced in the warehouse.

As a young boy, Charles Dickens was exposed to many artistic and literary works that allowed his imagination to grow and develop considerably. He was greatly influenced by the stories his nursemaid used to tell him and by his many visits to the theater. Additionally, Dickens loved to read. Among his favorite works were Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, Tom Jones by Henry Fielding, and Arabian Nights, all of which were picaresque novels composed of a series of loosely linked adventures. This format no doubt played a part in Dickens' idea to serialize his future works.

Factory after his father's release from prison, and he continued his education at the Wellington House Academy. Although he had little formal schooling, Dickens was able to teach himself shorthand and launch a career as a journalist. At the age of sixteen, Dickens got himself a job as a court reporter, and shortly thereafter he joined the staff of A Mirror of Parliament, a newspaper that reported on the decisions of Parliament. During this time Charles continued to read voraciously at the British Library, and he experimented with acting and stage-managing amateur theatricals. His experience acting would affect his work throughout his life--he was known to act out characters he was writing in the mirror and then describe himself as the character in prose in his novels.

Fast becoming disillusioned with politics, Dickens developed an interest in social reform and began contributing to the True Sun, a radical newspaper. Although his main avenue of work would consist of writing novels, Dickens continued his journalistic work until the end of his life, editing The Daily News, Household Words, and All the Year Round. His connections to various magazines and newspapers as a political journalist gave him the opportunity to begin publishing his own fiction at the beginning of his career. He would go on to write fifteen novels. (A final one, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, was left unfinished upon his death.)

Within a few years, he was regarded as one of the most successful authors of his time, with approximately one out of every ten people in Victorian England avidly reading and following his writings. In 1836 Dickens also married Catherine Hogarth, the daughter of a fellow co-worker at his newspaper. The couple had ten children before their separation in 1858.

Dickens' health began to deteriorate in the 1860s. In 1858, in response to his increasing fame, he had begun public readings of his works. These exacted a great physical toll on him. An immensely profitable but physically shattering series of readings in America in 1867-68 sped his decline, and he collapsed during a "farewell" series in England.

On June 9, 1870, Charles Dickens died. He was buried in Poet's Corner of Westminster Abbey. Though he left The Mystery of Edwin Drood unfinished, he had already written fifteen substantial novels and countless shorter pieces. His legacy is clear. In a whimsical and unique fashion, Dickens pointed out society's flaws in terms of its blinding greed for money and its neglect of the lower classes of society. Through his books, we come to understand the virtues of a loving heart and the pleasures of home in a flawed, cruelly indifferent world. Among English writers, in terms of his fame and of the public's recognition of his characters and stories, he is second only to William Shakespeare.

Festivals Around The World - Christmas

Meals:

By the Christmas traditions of the Serbs, this festive meal is copious and diverse in foods, although it is prepared in accordance with the rules of fasting. Besides a round, unleavened loaf of bread and salt, which are necessary, this meal may comprise egg, roast fish, cooked beans, sauerkrauts, noodles with ground walnuts, honey, and wine.In Colombia a tipical meal is natilla and buñuelo.

History:

For many centuries, Christian writers accepted that Christmas was the actual date on which Jesus was born. However, in the early eighteenth century, scholars began proposing alternative explanations. Isaac Newton argued that the date of Christmas was selected to correspond with the winter solstice, which in ancient times was marked on December 25.

In 1743,German Protestan Paul Ernesto Jablonski argued Christmas was placed on December 25 to correspond with the Roman solar holiday Dies Natalis Invicti and was therefore a “paganization” that debased the true church. In 1889,Louis Duchesne suggested that the date of Christmas was calculated as nine months after the Annunciation (March 25),the traditional date of the Incarnation.

A Historical Event Of Christmas Was (Christmas Truce):

During World War I in 1914 and 1915 an unofficial Christmas truce took place. The truce began on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1914, when German troops began decorating the area around their trenches in the region of Ypres, Belgium, for Christmas. They began by placing candles on trees, then continued the celebration by singing Christmas carols, most notably Stille Nacht (Silent Night). The British troops in the trenches across from them responded by singing English carols. The two sides shouted Christmas greetings to each other. Soon thereafter, there were calls for visits across the "No man's land" where small gifts were exchanged. The truce also allowed a breathing spell where recently-fallen soldiers could be brought back behind their lines by burial parties. Funerals took place as soldiers from both sides mourned the dead together and paid their respects. At one funeral in No Man's Land, soldiers from both sides gathered and read a passage from Psalm 23. The truce occurred in spite of opposition at higher levels of the military command. Earlier in the autumn, a call by Pope Benedict XV.

For an official truce between the warring governments had been ignored.

Decorations:

In christmas the usually decorations were: trees , lights , God and where god was born. Also the lights are used in the trees , houses , aparments , and other decorations but the ones that I mencioned were the most important.

Christmas Clothes:

In the age of early Christianity, a Christmas garment was associated with that of St. Nicholas. With gradual evolution, the connotation has undergone a radical alteration with clothing being majorly redefined by haute couture. For all fashion buffs out there and those who're not so much into it as well, here's Christmas Carnivals offering information on Christmas Clothes.
